Advanced Electrolysis extension

This policy is hereby extended to indemnify the policyholder for the provision of Advanced Electrolysis by way of ABT/Balens approved devices.

Exclusions applicable

The insured shall not undertake treatment of clients:

• Who wish to have hairs removed from moles without a doctor’s consent
• Who wish to have moles removed without a doctor’s consent
• Who are under the age of 16 unless a signed consent is received from a guardian

Subject to the operator holding the necessary certificate of competence and only using the equipment that is designed for this purpose and which is regularly serviced and maintained.

Subject to all other terms and conditions of the policy.

ABT advanced skin peeling extension

Exclusions applicable

The insured shall not undertake treatment of clients:

• Who have not received a thorough consultation and been provided with the appropriate before and aftercare advice in written format
• Who have not had a patch test
• Who are taking photo sensitive medications including Roaccutane and antibiotics.
• Who have medical conditions that cause thinning of the skin or loss of sensitivity.
• Who have open cuts and wounds, allergies to Aspirin or use of Retinoic Acid or Retin A products
• Who are pregnant
• Who are under the age of 16

Treatments must only be carried out by a trained therapist who holds a qualifying certificate.

A patch test must be performed on the client at least 24 hours before the first treatment and renewed every six months

Cryopen extension

It is a condition precedent to liability that in respect of the use of the Cryopen that the Insured shall:

• Hold a Level 2 Beauty qualification in general beauty therapy or be a qualified Doctor, Nurse and/or foot healthcare professional..
• Have undertaken full manufacturer’s training and hold a manufacturer’s certificate of competence
• Use equipment that is regularly serviced and maintained only and ensure that the equipment is only used for the purpose for which it is intended.
• Provide pre-treatment and after care advice as per training and qualification
• Ensure medical consent is obtained and recorded prior to any treatment being undertaken in respect of moles.
• Not provide any treatment to persons who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a diagnosed auto immune disease or are aged under 16.
• Cover is only provided for the following treatments: skin tags, age spots, milia, warts, blood spots, freckles, verrucae and moles.
• Excluding all cover relating to change in the pigmentation of the skin or involving treatments in or around the immediate eye area

ABT Prerequisites

ABT Laser and Light Therapies including IPL up to skin type IV extension.

This policy is hereby extended to indemnify the policyholder for the provision of Laser and Light therapies including IPL by way of ABT/BALENS approved devices.

The insured must hold a Level 2 & Level 3 Beauty therapy qualification and a Level 3 Electrical qualification or the equivalent, or be a qualified Doctor or Nurse. Cover is subject to the operator holding the necessary certificate of competence to use the device and only using the equipment that is designed for this purpose and which is regularly serviced and maintained.

Exclusions applicable

The insured shall not undertake treatment of clients:

• With light induced epilepsy, light sensitivity, porphyria, skin tumors, skin cancer or hypo pigmentation
• Who are pregnant
• Taking photo-sensitive medication
• Who are under the age of 18

Skin Cancer alleged to have been caused by this therapy.

This policy is hereby extended to include Skin Needling using ABT approved products subject to the following conditions:

• A new unit is used for each new client and is allocated to that client only by a numbering system. Such units are to have been irradiated before delivery to the salon by the supplier or maker.
• After each use such items are to be sanitized according to the maker’s specifications and instructions
• Client to be given adequate pre and post treatment information as to potential side effects and aftercare instructions
• Maker’s consultation and consent forms signed by the client and maker’s own leaflets to be used and be kept for a minimum period of 7 years
• Maximum needle length must not exceed 1mm roller or 1.5mm stamp for facial treatments and 3mm for body treatments.

It is hereby noted and agreed that these treatments are included subject to the following conditions:

• Manufacturer’s pre and post treatment procedures being adhered to.
• Cover excludes clients with contraindications stipulated by the manufacturers.
• Cover excludes any claims relating to a change in the pigmentation of the skin as a result of the treatment.
• Pre and post treatment advice in accordance with manufacturer’s information is provided to the client and is suitably recorded.
• The operator only using the equipment that is designed for this purpose and which is regularly serviced and maintained.
• The policy will cover you to practice the techniques of your qualification: eyebrows, eyeliner, lip liner, lips, blusher etc.

It is hereby noted and agreed that these treatments are included under the range of treatments offered subject to:

• Manufacturer’s pre and post treatment procedures are adhered to
• Cover excludes any clients with the contra indications stipulated by the manufacturer
• Pre and post treatment advice in accordance with manufacturer’s information is given to the client and recorded suitably that it has been given
• The operator holding the necessary certificate of competence and only using the equipment that is designed for this purpose and which is regularly serviced and maintained.
