This policy is hereby extended to indemnify the policyholder for the provision of Advanced Electrolysis by way of ABT approved devices.

Exclusions applicable.

The insured shall not undertake treatment of clients:

• Who wish to have hairs removed from moles without a doctors consent.
• Who wish to have moles removed without a doctors consent.
• Who are under the age of 16 unless a signed consent is received from a guardian.

Subject to the operator holding the necessary certificate of competence and only using the equipment that is designed for this purpose and which is regularly serviced and maintained.

Subject to all other terms and conditions of the policy.

Exclusions applicable.

The insured shall not undertake treatment of clients:

• Who have not received a thorough consultation and been provided with the appropriate before and aftercare advice in written format.
• Who have not had a patch test.
• Who are taking photo sensitive medications including Roaccutane and antibiotics.
• Who have medical conditions that cause thinning of the skin or loss of sensitivity.
• Who have open cuts and wounds, allergies to Aspirin or use of Retinoic Acid or Retin A products.
• Who are pregnant.
• Who are under the age of 16.

Treatments must only be carried out by a trained therapist who holds a qualifying certificate.

A patch test must be performed on the client at least 24 hours before the first treatment and at renewed every six months.

The policy is hereby extended to indemnify the policy holder for the provision of Micropigmentation/Semi-permanent Make Up by way of ABT approved products or devices.

It is hereby noted and agreed that these treatments are included subject to the following conditions:

• Manufacturer’s pre and post treatment procedures being adhered to.
• Cover excludes clients with contraindications stipulated by the manufacturers.
• Cover excludes any claims relating to a change in the pigmentation of the skin as a result of the treatment.
• Pre and post treatment advice in accordance with manufacturer’s information is provided to the client and is suitably recorded.
• The operator only using the equipment that is designed for this purpose and which is regularly serviced and maintained.
• The policy will cover you to practice the techniques of your qualification: eyebrows, eyeliner, lip liner, lips, blusher etc.

Subject to all other terms and conditions of the policy.

Dermaplaning

This policy is hereby extended to indemnify the policy holder for the provision of Cryopen by way of ABT approved products or devices.

It is hereby noted and agreed that these treatments are included subject to the following conditions:

• The insured must hold a Level 2 Beauty qualification in general beauty therapy or be a qualified Doctor or Nurse and/or foot healthcare professional.
• Subject to the operator holding the necessary certificate of competency and only using the equipment that is designed for this purpose and which is regularly serviced and maintained.
• Manufacturer’s pre and post treatment procedures are adhered to.
• The policy excludes the treatment of clients with any contraindications as stipulated by the manufacturers.
• Cover excludes any claims relating to a change in the pigmentation of the skin as a result of the treatment.
• Pre and post treatment advice is provided in accordance with manufacturer’s guidance and is suitably recorded by the policy holder.

Subject to all other terms and conditions of the policy.

ABT Prerequisites

This policy is hereby extended to indemnify the policyholder for the provision of Laser and Light therapies including IPL by way of ABT approved devices.

The insured must hold a Level 2 & Level 3 Beauty therapy qualification and a Level 3 Electrical qualification or the equivalent or be a qualified Doctor or Nurse. Cover is subject to the operator holding the necessary certificate of competence to use the device and only using the equipment that is designed for this purpose, and which is regularly serviced and maintained.

Exclusions applicable

The insured shall not undertake treatment of clients:

• With light induced epilepsy, light sensitivity, porphyria, skin tumors, skin cancer or hypo pigmentation.
• Who are pregnant.
• Taking photo-sensitive medication.
• Who are under the age of 18.

Skin Cancer alleged to have been caused by this therapy.

This policy is hereby extended to include Skin Needling/Dema-Rollering/Micro Needling using ABT approved products subject to the following conditions:

• A new unit is used for each new client and is allocated to that client only by a numbering system. Such units are to have been irradiated before delivery to the salon by the supplier or maker.
• After each use such items are to be sanitized according to the makers specifications and instructions.
• Client to be given adequate pre and post treatment information as to potential side effects and aftercare instructions.
• Maker's consultation and consent forms signed by the client and makers own leaflets to be used and be kept for a minimum period of 7 years.
• Needle lengths must not exceed 1.5mm stamp or roller for facial treatments and 1.5mm for body treatments.

Subject to all other terms and conditions of the policy.

This policy is hereby extended to indemnify the policyholder for the provision of Ultra-Sound, Ultrasonic Lipo-cavitation and Radio Frequency therapy by way of ABT approved devices.

It is hereby noted and agreed that these treatments are included under the range of treatments offered subject to:

• Manufacturer’s pre and post treatment procedures are adhered to
• Cover excludes any clients with the contra indications stipulated by the manufacturer
• Pre and post treatment advice in accordance with manufacturer’s information is given to the client and recorded suitably that it has been given
• The operator holding the necessary certificate of competence and only using the equipment that is designed for this purpose and which is regularly serviced and maintained

Subject to all other terms and conditions of the policy.

This policy is hereby extended to indemnify the policyholder for the provision of Ultra-Sound, Ultrasonic Lipo-cavitation and Radio Frequency therapy by way of ABT approved devices.

The insured must hold a Level 3 Beauty therapy qualification including facial and body electrical units. Cover is subject to the operator holding the necessary certificate of competence to use the device and only using the equipment that is designed for this purpose, and which is regularly serviced and maintained.

It is hereby noted and agreed that these treatments are included under the range of treatments offered subject to:

• Manufacturer’s pre and post treatment procedures are adhered to
• Cover excludes any clients with the contra indications stipulated by the manufacturer
• Pre and post treatment advice in accordance with manufacturer’s information is given to the client and recorded suitably that it has been given
• The operator holding the necessary certificate of competence and only using the equipment that is designed for this purpose and which is regularly serviced and maintained.

ABT Prerequisites

Endorsement - Sunbeds, Sunlamps and Tanning Booths

Cover shall not apply in respect of any claim or liability arising from exposure to ultra violet radiation resulting in

• Malignant Melanoma or malignant non-melanoma skin cancers
• Cataracts
• Permanent aging of the skin

Condition - Sunbeds, Sunlamps and Tanning Booths

It is a condition precedent to liability that the Insured shall

• Not allow anyone under 18 years of age to use the equipment.
• Keep a record of the treatment session undertaken by any client to include details of the date the session took place, their name & address, age and medical history.
• Not allow any person who may be pregnant to use the equipment.
• Not allow any person who has previously suffered from skin cancer to use the equipment.
• Not allow anyone with abnormal sensitivity to the sun either due to photosensitive skin diseases (sun allergies) or medication to use the equipment.
• Ascertain if anybody is taking any medication.
• Prohibit the use of tan accelerants.
• Ensure goggles are worn all times during the course of the treatment.
• Ensure manufacturers guidelines are followed for the use of the equipment.
• Regularly service and maintain the equipment.

This option is for an individual who is actually delivering a qualification and not to exceed 40 students a year or £25,000 turnover.

This policy is hereby extended to indemnify the policyholder for the delivery and certification of accredited courses. This will include a maximum of 3 teachers and 250 students per year.

This extension indemnifies the insured member for allegations of negligence against them arising from the delivery of the courses and from student activity but does not extend to cover the individual student themselves if personally sued.

This extension indemnifies the insured member for allegations of negligence against them arising from the delivery of the courses and from student activity but does not extend to cover the individual student themselves if personally sued.

This Policy is extended such that the Underwriters shall, subject to the terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of this Policy, include Trichology as an activity forming part of the approved treatments document for the Insured.

As a Condition Precedent to the right of the Insured to be indemnified under this Policy, it is hereby noted and agreed that this treatment is included subject to:

• Pre and post treatment advice in given to the client and recorded in writing by the Insured.
• Signed written consent from the client and recorded by the Insured.
• The Insured operator must hold an accredited Trichology course or an OFQUAL regulated course such as level 5 Diploma in Clinical Trichology.
• The Insured operator holding the necessary certificate of competency.
